Oh Hey, Wal Mart

This past weekend, my dad, mom, and sister rode in a bike race at the Weatherford Peach Festival.  They spoiled us and brought over some of the sweet fruits of their labor, and the heat was on to decide what we were going to make with those juicy fruits.  It was decided that we should experiment with some peach ice cream.  I was able to put it off yesterday, but this morning when he woke up Jackson insisted that today was the day.

After my chiropractor appointment we were on our way to the craziness that is Wal Mart.  *Side note: I recently started going to the chiropractor and good Lord what have I been missing?!  I've had lower back pain since I was a teenager so this new discovery has been wonderful.

I digress...Obviously we didn't go straight to the grocery side of the store when we arrived.  Who goes to Wal Mart and doesn't scope out all the new goodies.  Am I right?! Wait, am I the only one who's a sucker for low priced, sometimes poorly made, goodies?  Eh, c'est la vie.  (Does anyone else sing that song by B*Witched when they hear that phrase?! I'm looking at you Lauren Carter!)

I didn't go all over the store, but I did happen to stop in the accessories section.  I'm not gonna lie, y'all.  I was kind of impressed with some of their options.  This was my favorite.

I love the length of this bag.  I'm wearing it as a cross-body purse in this picture, but you could easily shorten it to be over the shoulder.  I'm really digging the color, too.  I feel like it would transition from summer to fall pretty well.   I didn't get a picture of the opening, and I'm bummed because the opening isn't as big as I would like for it to be, but I could work with it.  Plus, the flap is a nice extra pocket for whatever you might need, and there's a zipper pocket on the back for your phone.  It came in quite a few colors including this delicious green.

Now that we have multiple children, I have decided that ditching the conventional diaper bag for a backpack is the only way I can function.  I need free hands and to not worry about something falling off my shoulder when I'm chasing these hooligans around.  Right now I have a Vera Bradley bag that I got as a Christmas present a few years ago, but I think its time to move on.  I'm not so sure how long some of these would last, but I liked the options Wal Mart is putting out for back to school. I won't even touch on the fact that I feel like its a little too early for B2S merchandise to be out, but hey, Hobby Lobby already has Christmas supplies out so I guess WM is behind.

The bags on the left are price pointed at $9.88, and that is why I'm hesitant about their quality. I'm loving the color choices though.  A few rows down I did find that they have some higher priced backpacks ($18.88) that are super cute as well. I believe the fabric on the bottom of the lower priced bags is thinner therefore not as good in quality. There was a black pleather bag that I really liked, and I love this cute navy/gray polka dot option.  I love me some polka dots!

The last purse/bag/trash holder that I found and almost bought was this little weathered gray number.

It is a great size, really soft, and ONLY $7!! Clearance...gotta love it!

I won't bore you with much more I promise.  Wanted to show you guys that WM is trying to up their crafting game.  They had this end cap set up, and I was impressed again with their effort.

That's all for now, but I know you'll be waiting with bated breath so I'll keep this ol blog of mine updated with new treasures when I come across them.  Until next time :)
